Only yesterday, I found myself ogling at an image of a breathtaking hotel on Instagram, while secretly adding it to my favourites.
The power of social media is only spiralling and everything is about picturesque landscapes and divine locales. More so, how can we flaunt our picture-perfect locations without the high and mighty Instagram!
While top-notch service and location pretty much dictates the hotel rule-book, a large chunk of travellers are also giving key importance to the appearance of hotels and resorts around the world.
Australian websites Fashion Journal, which focuses on free fashion and lifestyle, and Expedia.au, for online travel bookings, have compiled a list of the nine most Instagram-worthy hotels and resorts for you.
Hotel Plaza Athénée, Paris, France
Situated in the heart of our beloved Paris, the Hotel Plaza Athénée is simply belle!
The interiors are typically French, adorned with art and chandeliers, but my favourite element is the hotel’s red and white facade and a balcony view of the Eiffel Tower.
Canaves Oia Suites, Santorini, Greece
I personally feel Instagram was created for places such as Santorini.
Granted every angle of Santorini offers the most inspiring views, but Canaves Oia location is breathtaking.
Imagine private luxury suites overlooking the most enviable views of the Aegean Sea, coupled with poolside drinks amid the white-on-white ambience.
Ayana Resort, Bali, Indonesia
The resort’s name immediately strikes a chord, given that it’s home to the legendary Rock Bar.
Yet, the hotel occupies a position on this list for different reasons.
Perched on a cliff, the hotel offers the most beautiful views of the sea below, whether you are sitting by the pool or cosying up to a blanket by the beach.

It’s like the staircases were built for photos, forget their functionality.
The lavish floral carpets and multi-coloured dome roofs were, after all, the set of a Spice Girls music video.

The rugged terrain of the Cappadocia region is such a great contrast to the repetitive beach and mountain landscape.
