How Boucheron transformed Paris’ iconic landmarks into high jewellery collection vu du 26

The City of Light has always drawn diehard romantics from around the world, and now Boucheron is channelling Paris’ architectural charms through rings, bracelets and necklaces. From its newly renovated Boucheron Family House at 26 Place Vendôme comes the vu du 26 collection, which interprets the city through high jewellery.
What is the Jack de Boucheron collection’s coolest design feature?

The Acanthus column, a familiar sight in Paris, is expressed as a pearl tassel with Acanthus leaf detail, and these sinuous leaves are seen again in the iconic question mark necklace and pendant earrings in diamonds and white gold, Feuilles d’Acanthe. The cobblestones of the Place Vendôme are given a glamorous sheen in a necklace of small frosted rock crystal tiles with a drop of diamonds, which can be detached to be worn as a ring.

Rock crystal is also shaped into horses’ heads for the Cheval de l’Opera bracelet and ring. Inspired by the horse sculptures on the Opera Garnier, these horses have manes of baguette diamonds. Wladimir, the maison’s cat, is immortalised in rings of black sapphires and emeralds, or pavé diamonds and green tourmaline. Then there is Nuri, stunning asymmetrical earrings in titanium with multicoloured gems.

Larger pieces include Armoiries, yellow gold chains caught by an openwork gold plaque highlighted by a 32.22ct pear imperial topaz, which can be detached as a brooch. There are stunning pieces with an art deco feel, such as 26V, which features a stone of three-dimensional marquetry of onyx, rock crystal and white agate; and Perspective, a cuff bracelet with diamonds tracing geometric patterns against black onyx highlighted by a 20.45ct Ceylon sapphire.
