Lu Lu, China’s passionate panda, breaks lovemaking record in front of global audience
Viewers watch live iPanda channel as he sets a 2015 mating record of 18 minutes and three seconds with Xi Mei at the Sichuan Giant Panda Research Centre

There’s no stopping Lu Lu, China's passionate panda, who shattered his already impressive eight-minute lovemaking session on Saturday by 10 minutes – and in front of a live audience.
Lu Lu had found worldwide fame at the Sichuan Giant Panda Research Centre in Yaan on Friday after a clip showed him copulating with his mate, Zhen Zhen, for eight minutes instead of the usual 30 seconds.
Viewers watching the live iPanda channel on Saturday watched as Lu Lu stepped up to the task again, this time establishing a 2015 mating record of 18 minutes and three seconds with Xi Mei.
The channel, first launched in 2013, added live broadcasts featuring pandas mating for the first time on Friday.
The first pair of pandas to be featured in a live television broadcast were female panda called Lin Bing and a male, Wu Gang.
However, the 50-minute programme disappointed many viewers because the pandas failed to mate.
Wu Gang grew hostile towards Lin Bing when she showed signs that she was in heat, Xinhua reported.
