GUANGDONG – The story of a young man. whose dream of cycling round China was halted after his bike was stolen has a happy ending, the Southern Metropolis News reports.

Shenzhen police recovered Wang Pingan’s bike after it was taken by a thief in Guangdong province on Wednesday - the 460th day of his trip.

Wang, from Guangxi, had locked up his bike outside a mall in Shenzhen’s Huaqiangbei shopping district on Wednesday. When he returned after 10 minutes, it was missing.

Shenzhen was Wang’s second-to-last stop before going to Hainan province, and then home.

Police detained the suspected thief on Thursday, who had reportedly already sold the bike, but later recovered it.
