A man has raised eyebrows in southwest China by training to become a masseur specialising in massaging women’s breasts, according to a newspaper report.

He wants to be among masseurs around the country who say they can help new mothers produce more milk through massage, the West China City Daily said.

The man, who is in his 20s but was not named in the report, has studied traditional Chinese medicine and believes his new career has a promising future as more women are likely to give birth after the government relaxed the one-child policy.

Similar specialists in China can charge about 300 yuan (HK$360) to 400 yuan an hour, according to the report.

The man was the only male in one training class, the newspaper said, and at first he had to practise on a plastic dummy as no woman would let him touch them.

After repeated persuasion by the class manager, two female students finally agreed to let the man practise on them.
