Footage latest to prompt debate online on the mainland about ‘uncivilised’ behaviour

Several people have come forward online claiming to be the woman featured in a two-minute video that went viral on the internet in a row over her throwing chewed chicken feet on the floor of a subway train in Shanghai.
The woman denies in the video she had thrown away the rubbish and swore at other passengers for accusing her of uncivilised behaviour.

Internet users have been busy trying to find out who the woman is.
It was suggested she may be a violin teacher at a music training institute in the Pudong district of the city, but the news website Thepaper.cn said the college’s phone was out of use.
Other internet users said the woman might have appeared on a matchmaking programme on television four years ago.
Several people now claim to be her.
