Two SWAT officers killed, five injured in collision in southwest China

Two elite police officers died and seven others were injured when their vehicle crashed into a car in southwest China, mainland media reports.

The Public Security Bureau in Ziyang, Sichuan province, said a minivan carrying 13 SWAT officers on patrol collided with a car at an intersection on Thursday, the West China City Daily reported.

Two of the injured officers were in serious condition.

The car involved in the accident overturned, but the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
