Hero rescues three people from burning car in eastern China
Former soldier spotted vehicle on fire at side of the road in Chongqing

A former PLA soldier has been hailed as a hero after a video clip went viral online in China showing him rushing into a burning car and rescuing three seriously injured people.
Li Weijun, 47, was driving on a road in Chongqing last Friday evening when he saw a car had crashed into a barrier and was on fire, the Chongqing Morning Post reported.

He stopped and fetched a fire extinguisher from his car to try to put out the blaze, but could not quell the flames.
Two passengers scrambled out of the car and told Li there were three other people inside.
Li immediately rushed into the car and within three minutes had pulled the three unconscious passengers to safety.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene and the injured were sent to hospital. They are in a stable condition.
