Chinese builders use 3D printing technology to create Beijing villa

A two-storey house has been built in the Chinese capital using 3D printing technology, according to a news website report.

It took developers 45 days to produce all the components to make the villa in Beijing, Hexun. com reported.

The technology is used to prefabricate steel and concrete structures which can then be assembled on site.

The building covers 400 square metres and the report said it was so robust it can withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake.

Twenty tonnes of steel and 380 cubic metres of concrete were used in its construction, according to the article.
