Man suspected of planting bombs in rubbish bins on buses in Guangdong province, media reports say
A man suspected of carrying out bomb attacks on two buses in southern China on Wednesday has been caught by the police, according to Chinese media reports.
The man is believed to have placed the bombs in rubbish bins on the buses in Foshan in Guangdong province, the China News Service reported.
The bombs went off on Wednesday afternoon, injuring six passengers. Five suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
The first bomb went off at 3.30pm, blowing out the bus windows and hurting four people in Foshan’s Nanhai district.
The second blast happened about 45 minutes later in another bus in the same district. Two people were injured.
The 22-year-old suspect, surnamed Liang, was caught by police at 11pm in a rented house in Foshan.
He has confessed to his role in the crimes, the report said.
No details were given for a possible motive for the attacks.
