A 46-year-old man presumed to be high on drugs has been arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend and hiding her body under a bunk bed in her public housing flat in Hong Kong.
Police suspect the jobless Hong Kong man had been heavily using the drug “Ice”, or methamphetamine, before he had a fight with the 34-year-old waitress at her flat in Po Kim House, Po Lam Estate, Tseung Kwan O, three or four days ago, when she was last seen.
After the incident he rented a room in a Kowloon City guest house.
Police arrested him on Tuesday night in a separate investigation involving possession of an offensive weapon.
During their inquiries, officers became suspicious that he may have murdered his girlfriend. Police took the suspect back to the flat on Wednesday morning.
