Police suspect the jobless Hong Kong man had been heavily using the drug “Ice”, or methamphetamine, before he had a fight with the 34-year-old waitress at her flat in Po Kim House, Po Lam Estate, Tseung Kwan O, three or four days ago, when she was last seen.

After the incident he rented a room in a Kowloon City guest house.

Police arrested him on Tuesday night in a separate investigation involving possession of an offensive weapon.
