A 29-year-old marketing manager has been hit with 13 charges, including manslaughter, for allegedly drugging six men to either rape them or steal their belongings and killing one of them at a Hong Kong hotel last year.

Prosecutors on Thursday levelled a charge of manslaughter and 12 other counts against Au Chi-ken and applied for his case to be moved to the Court of First Instance for trial before a jury.

The defendant has been remanded in custody since he first appeared in the dock in March 2023, and will remain behind bars until the case is heard again at Eastern Court next month.
