3 people arrested and drugs worth almost HK$30 million seized in raid on Hong Kong flat

Hong Kong customs officers have arrested three local people and seized drugs worth almost HK$30 million (US$3.84 million) after raiding a flat in Sheung Shui.

Officers earlier identified the premises as suspected of being used for drug trafficking, Senior Investigator Lee Chi-ho of customs’ drug investigation bureau said on Sunday.

In a raid on the flat on Saturday, officers found 17kg of cocaine, 8kg of crack cocaine, 6kg of suspected cannabis buds and 5kg of suspected Ecstasy pills.

Various other chemicals and drug paraphernalia such as measuring cups and funnels were also seized.

A 23-year-old man and two women, aged 24 and 25, who claimed to be an health worker and jobless, were arrested at the premises.
