2 more suspects arrested over HK$10 million knifepoint robbery in Hong Kong
Together with three suspects taken into custody on Friday, all five individuals have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery
Hong Kong police have arrested two more suspects in connection with a HK$10 million (US$1.28 million) knifepoint robbery in Sheung Wan last week.
Following further investigation, officers on Saturday arrested a 23-year-old man in northern Lantau and a 17-year-old boy in Ngau Tau Kok on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, a police spokesman said.
Together with three suspects aged 19 to 31 who were taken into custody on Friday, all five individuals have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.
The case will be heard at Eastern Court on Monday morning.
Police said the 19-year-old suspect held a Philippine passport and a Hong Kong identity card, while the other four were locals.
Officers had earlier received intelligence that a criminal syndicate was planning a robbery, prompting them to set up an ambush.
