Mirror star Keung To slapped with 3-month driving ban after spate of offences
Cantopop star was fined HK$2,200 for various traffic offences after obtaining his probationary driving licence in February last year
Hong Kong Cantopop star Keung To has been disqualified from driving for three months after accumulating 15 demerit points for various traffic offences last year.
Eastern Court on Wednesday revoked Keung’s probationary driving licence and ordered him to surrender the document within 14 days.
But a lawyer representing the 27-year-old artist, who was absent from the hearing for work-related reasons, said Keung had lost his licence and reported the matter to police.
Principal Magistrate David Cheung Chi-wai asked Keung to make a verbal declaration at the court’s registry if the defendant was unable to locate the document before the deadline.
Cheung also warned Keung that the disqualification order would bar him from driving all types of vehicles.
“The court will not tolerate any violation [of the order] and will sentence the defendant to immediate imprisonment,” the magistrate said.
