Vietnamese man arrested over death of compatriot in Tuen Mun village

A 42-year-old Vietnamese man was arrested in Tuen Mun last night in connection with the murder of a compatriot on Sunday morning.
He had been the target of a police manhunt launched on Sunday when the 58-year-old victim was found covered in blood outside a house in Sun Fung Wai village at about 5.40am. A 30cm knife was discovered nearby.

The victim was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital but was certified dead.
Police said he suffered three injuries – a 7.5cm wound to his throat, a 4cm wound under his left armpit and a 1.5cm wound under his right armpit.
The suspect, who smelled of alcohol, was yesterday stopped near the MTR Light Rail’s Prime View Station.
Tuen Mun Chief Inspector Wong Yick-lung said on Sunday the knife was found in another house in the village, where the murder was suspected to have taken place and where the suspect, the suspect’s brother and the victim were all thought to live together.
