Man dies at Hong Kong MTR station after falling from platform and being hit by a train

East Rail Line services in Hong Kong were disrupted on Monday evening after a man was hit by a train at Tai Wai station and died.
The victim, who was reportedly in his 40s, was said to have fallen from the southbound platform at around 10.30pm.
Emergency services were able to recover the man’s body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An MTR Corporation spokesman said security camera footage from the station appeared to indicate the man had jumped onto the tracks as a train approached.
Services between Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin were suspended during an investigation, but the spokesman said they would return to normal around midnight.
