Partially charred body found at Hong Kong lake, prompting police probe

Hong Kong police are investigating after a partially charred body was discovered near a lake on Lantau Island.

Staff at the Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre called police at 3.30pm on Sunday to report the discovery.

Officers and Fire Services Department personnel arrived and launched an investigation.

A couple reportedly spotted the body beneath a tree.

There were burns on the upper part of the body.

No personal belongings or traces of accelerants were found, according to media reports.
