90-year-old Hong Kong woman falls to her death while hanging laundry

A 90-year-old Hong Kong woman has fallen to her death while hanging laundry from a building in North Point.

Police said on Sunday that the elderly woman was trying to retrieve clothes pegs from a rack outside a window of her 11th-floor flat on Chun Yeung Street when she lost her balance at around 4.20pm.

A passer-by called an ambulance, but the woman was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police are investigating, with a postmortem expected to confirm the cause of death.
