The tree was reported to have fallen at University station at about 6.05pm, causing an overhead cable to catch fire and power failure between University and Tai Po Market stations, according to police.

At 7.20pm, the MTR said the objects entangled in an overhead line near Tai Po Market station had been removed and normal service was gradually resuming.
