Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai’s popular television series Blossoms Shanghai may have ended, but it is still a hot topic for discussion on mainland social media, and the Chinese actress Tiffany Tang who appears in it has been catapulted to star status.
Tang, 40, a native of Shanghai and an alumna of The Central Academy of Drama, played Miss Wang in the 30-episode series, which debuted on December 27 last year.
She won many fans for her vivid portrayal of the multifaceted character.
Tang said Miss Wang was a representative of China’s first batch of female white-collar workers, with a spirit of honesty, resilience and bravery, according to Jimu News.
“Over the past three years, I feel as though I have actually become Miss Wang,” she said.
