A Chinese actress who has been consistently ranked among the world’s 100 most beautiful faces has graduated from a leading French business school with a master’s degree.
Beijing-born Zhu Zhu, 40, qualified from the Media, Art and Creation Executive Programme at HEC Paris in June, the news outlet Sina reported.
The academic achievement follows her appearance, in a starring role, in the hit mainland television series The Rose’s Tales.
Although not an A-list Chinese celebrity, Zhu has been included as one of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces globally from 2012 to 2021 by TC Candler, a US-based company that compiles the annual list.

She comes from a family with a political background.
Her grandfather Zhu Xuzhi took part in the Long March, a historic strategic military retreat by China’s Communist Party forces in the 1930s.
Zhu senior was honoured by being bestowed the rank of Major General by the country’s founding fathers in the 1950s.
Her wealthy father, Zhu Hanbin, is the founder of a large ice cream company in China.
After graduating from Beijing Technology and Business University with a bachelor’s degree, Zhu landed a job as a Chinese-English bilingual hostess at the MTV channel.

She then had a stint as a singer and model.
Since 2010, she has focused on acting and has had the opportunity to appear in films alongside major stars such as Hong Kong’s Andy Lau Tak-wah and mainland actress, Gong Li.
In the past decade, she has had roles in a number of international productions, such as the American drama Marco Polo and Indian film Tubelight.
In 2021, Zhu married a man not involved in the entertainment industry and gave birth to their daughter in September the same year.
Earlier this year, she was invited by Galleria Borghese in Rome to record audio guides for Chinese visitors to the world-famous art museum, along with Cantopop star Karen Mok Man-wai and K-pop group NewJeans.
In an interview in June at her master’s graduation event, Zhu said that, during her 18 months of studying at HEC, she also took on roles in a reality show, three television series and two films on the mainland.
“At the same time, I am a mum. I spend time with my baby. So it was definitely a struggle to balance all the scheduling,” she said.

Zhu said she decided to study the Media, Art and Creation Executive Programme because acting is an unpredictable career.
“You never know what’s going to happen in the future, so I joined the programme to learn techniques to manage my fame and creative enterprise so my career can be more sustainable,” said Zhu.
Many people on mainland social media are fascinated by her story.
“Bravo! You always challenge yourself and try to go out of your comfort zone. Congratulations,” one online observer on Weibo wrote.
“Happy graduation, beautiful sister,” said another person.
