Profile | Taiwan actor Show Lo revives lady alter ego after years of bad press, says she’s more popular
Zhu Bishi was originally introduced in 2016 variety show, skyrocketed actor to immense fame

Taiwanese singer and actor Show Lo Chih-hsiang has made a remarkable comeback, but not in his well-known role as an iconic singer-actor. Instead, in an unexpected twist, he has emerged in Thailand as a woman.
Lo, whose flourishing career was halted in 2020 after his ex-girlfriend accused him of persistent infidelity, has now reappeared publicly as his female alter ego, Zhu Bishi.
This female persona was created by him during a mainland Chinese variety show in 2016. Today, Zhu’s public appearances are primarily limited to venues outside mainland China, despite her previous immense popularity there before the scandal.
Zhu quickly became a sensation, leading Lo to question on social media: “Why is she more popular than me?”

The 45-year-old star had vanished from the public eye after his ex-girlfriend, Zhou Yangqing, publicly revealed his infidelities.
