Hong Kong star Maggie Cheung praised for sharing simple life in France, thanking hens for eggs
Acting legend who has shunned spotlight for 20 years says rural lifestyle in Bordeaux takes her back to her childhood
Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung Man-yuk has been praised on mainland social media for sharing details of her daily life in the south of France.
The feelgood videos included images of the acting legend collecting eggs from a henhouse.
On September 13, Cheung released a short video on a leading social media platform which shows her wearing a luxury brand scarf and sunglasses, crouching down to get into a hen house to pick up eggs.
After collecting five eggs, Cheung comes out of the coop and says “Thank you for giving us the eggs” to several hens strolling around.
“The life in Bordeaux has gradually changed my mind. Life in a city and here is quite different,” she captioned her video.
“In cities, eggs are just ordinary food. But here, when I hold a newly laid, still warm egg in my hand, I am touched. Besides feeling happy eating the freshest eggs.
“I feel grateful. These chickens quietly provide us with the best delicacies every day,” said Cheung in her post.
