A 10-year-old boy who complained to police eight times in the space of a year about his father favouring his older sister, has delighted mainland social media.

Every time he felt he was being ignored, the child, from Hunan province in southern China, would walk the 1km from his home to the nearest police station to report his gripes.

The most recent instance was on January 28 at about 3pm, when he got upset and asked officers to help him, Pear Video reported.

In a video clip, the boy is seen sitting next to a uniformed policeman, crying, angry and pouring out his grievances about his father preferring his older sister.

“Who makes you so angry?” the policeman asks him in the video. “My father,” the boy answers.

The officer notices he is not wearing a coat, only a thin sweatshirt, and asks the child why. Instead of answering, he sobs loudly.
