A video clip of a 78-year-old granny skilfully doing push-ups in a hospital corridor has gone viral after it was revealed that she hopes to keep fit so she can take care of her sick husband.
The granny, surnamed Feng, said her husband, 84, has needed her around-the-clock care since a stroke six years ago that left him unable to care for himself, the Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reports.
The video was taken by a nurse earlier this month in a hospital in Xiangtan, central Hunan province.
The granny’s husband, surnamed Gu, was admitted to hospital for stomach and breathing problems. He was discharged two days after the video was shot and uploaded on social media.
Feng said she wakes up at around 6am every day to do exercises including push-ups, star jumps and boxing. She can do more than 10 push-ups at a time.
She said her own health had not been good in the past so she started getting into the habit of working out after her husband had a stroke.

“I have been doing the exercises for six years. My health has improved a lot. I didn’t catch a cold the past winter,” Feng was quoted as saying.
