A Herculean bag-packing effort by a Chinese university graduate – who spent more than two weeks packing up the belongings of her absent-through-Covid-19 dorm mates before mailing them to their homes across the country – has gone viral in mainland China.
Student Li Qianqian, who has been studying in the capital city of Heilongjiang province in north China, undertook the mammoth task of packing the suitcases of her five dorm mates who could not return to campus due to strict Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Li got the six-person dorm spic and span straight all by herself in a 15-day slog, the Chinese video-sharing platform Maisui Video reported yesterday.

Li decided to undertake the packing marathon when she found out that all five of her dorm mates would almost certainly not be able to return to school in time. They would even miss the graduation ceremony.
“We had planned to take graduation pictures, but now I was the only one here to do the packing. I did feel regretful, while I also regarded it as a perfection in imperfection,” said Li of the packing and tidying job she did.

She also expressed thanks for her friends’ kindness in placing their trust in her to deal with their personal effects.
