A married mentor for doctoral students in a university in southeastern China has been suspended from his job after his affair with a student was exposed by her ex-boyfriend.
The mentor has only been identified by his surname, Song.
On February 25, Nanjing Normal University in Jiangsu province announced that based on an initial investigation into Song’s alleged immoral behaviour, the school has stripped him of his title.
Song had been the Environmental School’s vice dean. He has also been suspended.
The decision was made days after a 14-page PowerPoint document disclosing Song’s adultery with a student went viral on social media, Red Star News reported.

The document, compiled by the student’s ex-boyfriend, shows a raft of screen captures of online conversations between the 46-year-old Song and his student, surnamed Wang.
In their private conversations, Wang affectionately called Song “Piggy” while he referred to her as Xiangxiang because Xiang is a Chinese character in her name.
Song often urged Wang to delete their chat records and remove him from her contact list.
But Wang failed to do so promptly, enabling her boyfriend to collect the evidence.
It is not clear when their infidelity started.
The boyfriend, whose name was not revealed in the report, revealed that at one point his girlfriend refused his date request saying she was tired when, in fact, she was having sex with Song in a hotel room.
In another conversation, Song suggested Wang marry a young man after she graduated and Wang turned down his suggestion, saying she only loved him.
“Please do not say that. You must find a young guy to marry,” Song told her.
The boyfriend said he became suspicious of Wang because she had begun treating him coldly.
In the end of his document, the man wrote: “I believe all the people having read the above conversations will feel disgusted.

“When I realised my girlfriend had this sickening relationship with her married mentor, my brain became blank instantly. A long time had passed by before I could be calm enough to reveal the truth to the public.”
“I hope no one will be the ‘young guy’ Mr Song suggested,” he said.
It was not disclosed if Wang had received any punishment from the university.
This boyfriend is not the only one in China to expose their partner’s infidelity using a PowerPoint document online.
Last year, a woman created a 58-page file detailing her boyfriend’s history of cheating with 300 women. The scandal cost the man his lucrative job at a major bank in Shenzhen in southern China.
