A woman in China who caught a toddler who plunged 10 floors with her bare hands 14 years ago has been dubbed “the most beautiful mother” for her heroism and continuing care for the youngster.
At the end of May, a video clip of Wu Juping sitting with the girl she saved to celebrate her 16th birthday went viral on mainland social media, melting the hearts of internet users.
Wu, who is called Godmother by the girl nicknamed Niuniu, has in-fact celebrated birthday with the girl since the day she saved her, the news portal The Paper reported.
Their connection began on July 2, 2011 when the two-year-old Niuniu climbed onto the window ledge of her 10th floor home.
Wu, who lived in the same neighbourhood as Niuniu’s family in Hangzhou, eastern Zhejiang province, was walking with her husband at the time.
