The attempted assassination of Donald Trump on the presidential campaign trail in Pennsylvania this weekend is the shameful culmination of the past eight years of smears against the former US president by left-wing activists and their media allies that equated him to Adolph Hitler and portrayed him as a threat to democracy. US President Joe Biden must accept some responsibility for this appalling political violence, occurring just days after he told donors on a call that “it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye”.

Tough questions must now be asked of the Biden administration’s refusal to grant secret service protection to rival candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jnr and the attempt by congressional Democrats to pass legislation that would remove Trump’s secret service protection if he was sentenced to prison.
