Bakehouse Sha Tin

The indomitable, home-grown bakery brand continues its historic run with a new location in Sha Tin’s New Town Plaza. Expect exclusive items such as a mango sago pineapple bun, honey kumquat doughnut and egg tart soft serve, alongside the signature pastries that have established Bakehouse as one of the city’s most beloved bakeries, including its sourdough egg tart.

Not 2 Sweet

The dive bar is alive and well at this new addition to Central’s nightlife scene. Founded by mixologists Leandro Chan and Richard Fernie, Not 2 Sweet serves trusted classics as well as more experimental drinks such as the Spicy Chicken Ramen and the dubiously named (and possibly misspelled) Ghandi’s Crack Pipe. Crispy soup dumplings, chicken tenders and ’nduja pasta balls round out the affordable offerings.

Yuen Kee Dessert Cafe

In 2023, the 168-year-old Yuen Kee Dessert soup shop shut its Sai Ying Pun location to the chagrin of the sweet-toothed across the city. Thankfully, that was not to be its final curtain call, with the historic shop reopening in Tin Hau with decidedly more modern furnishings. Come for old-timey desserts such as lotus seed egg tea and whole egg sponge cake.
