Yè Shanghai Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong re-interprets cuisines of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai
Awarded one Michelin star, this elegant restaurant serves up many regional favourites, with its own distinct touches added
One Michelin-star Yè Shanghai at Marco Polo serves distinct interpretations of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai cuisines. The restaurant’s décor is elegant, and its windows look out across Tsim Sha Tsui.
Diners’ favourites include xiao long bao dumplings and, when in season, the hairy crab. Other noteworthy dishes include Huadiao wine marinated “drunken” chicken, braised prawns with onion in sweet chilli sauce, steamed freshwater herring, and the braised whole abalone with oyster sauce. There is an extensive list of dim sum, soups, poultry, meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes; and for dessert, deep-fried egg white stuffed with banana and red bean paste is good.
