The final event for the men and women (event 12) has been announced, it’s called The Standard and consists of 90 total reps in three exercises.

Event 12

The Standard.

For time:

  • 30 clean and jerks
  • 30 muscle-ups
  • 30 snatches (95lbs for the women and 135lbs for the men)

Time cap: 12 minutes

Event 11, completed

Ringer One

30-20-10 reps for time of:

  • Air bike (calories)
  • Toes-to-rings

Time cap: Seven minutes for women, six minutes for men

Event 10, completed

Ringer two

15-10-5 reps for time of:

  • Burpees with ring touch
  • Overhead squats (95lb for women, 135lb for men)

Time cap: Five minutes

Ringer one and Ringer two are separately scored events. Ringer two will begin seven minutes after the start of Ringer one.

Event nine, completed

Swim Paddle

For time:

  • 1,000m swim
  • 1,000m paddle

Beginning on the shore at Lake Monona, swim around the buoys and back to shore, then grab paddle boards, paddle around the buoys and back to shore.

Time cap: 50 minutes

Event eight, completed


  • One-rep clear, getting heavier each attempt
  • Athletes will lift in groups, with the weight increasing each round. Each round, those who fail the lift will race through five reps at the tiebreak bar.
  • Women: 215-220-225-230-235-240-245-250-255-260lb with 195lb tiebreak
  • Men: 315-325-335-345-355-365-370-375-380-385lb with 295lb tiebreak

Split Triplet

Five rounds for time of:

  • One pegboard ascent
  • 100 double-unders
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang split snatches (55lb dumbbell for women, 80lb for men)
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang clean and split jerks (55lb dumbbell for women, 80lb for men)

Event six, completed

Sprint course

  • Simply put, athletes will have to sprint through a marked course and the fastest time wins.
  • Athletes will be grouped in five person heats for a three round tournament.
    • The first round will have four heats, the second round will have two heats, and five athletes will advance to the final round.
  • Places one to five will be awarded to the athletes in the final round, based on finishing order. Places six to 10 will be awarded to the athletes from the second round, based on their times. Places 11 to 20 will be awarded to the remaining athletes based on the time it takes them to complete the course in the first round.

The field will then be reduced to 10 athletes.

  • Five handstand push-ups
  • 10 single-leg squats (known as pistol squats)
  • 15 pull-ups

Athletes will have to complete as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in 20 minutes.

For time:

  • 172ft sled push
  • Bar muscle-ups - 15 for women / 18 for me

  • 6km run, with weighted pack. Four 1.5km laps
  • For men: 20-30-40-50lb, increasing each lap

Individual Event Two, completed - Second Cut

The two champions dominated the opening event, but a very different set of exercises meant a change in leadership for the women, but Mat Fraser remained top of the men. Only 75 men and 75 women of the original competitors remained, and the field was facing further cuts down to 50.

The CrossFit Games are taking place in Madison, Wisconsin, and the athletes are vying for the title ‘Fittest on Earth’.

  • 800m row
  • 66 kettlebell shoulder-to-overheads
  • 132-ft. handstand walk

(two 12-kg KBs for the men and two 16-kg KBs for the women)

Time cap: 10 minutes and the field will be cut to 50 athletes after this event
