A video of the first CrossFit Games 2020 workout shows just why Tia-Clair Toomey is considered favourite to take yet another title. The three-time champion is sitting in first place after winning workouts one and two.

The Australian finished Friendly Fran (Three rounds for time: 21 thrusters (85lb/38.5kg) and 21 chest-to-bar pull-ups) in a breathtaking three minutes and 40 seconds. She was followed by Kara Saunders just nine seconds behind, but the pair were clear leaders with Brooke Wells, finishing in 4:28, in third.

The video shows Toomey as she breezes through Friendly Fran, not breaking a sweat. It is a shot across the bow of all the other athletes as they are left chasing the great competitor.

Toomey also won the second workout, a one-rep max front squat.
