CrossFit Open 21.1 live workout announcement as Kari Pearce takes on Kristi Eramo O’Connell

  • Dave Castro announces the first of three workouts live via YouTube, then two of the top athletes are put to the test head-to-head
  • The Open is an online competition, this year it is scaled so participants can take part even without access to to a gym

The first of the CrossFit Open workouts is being announced by Dave Castro live, and shortly after the 21.1 workout is made public, two of the sport’s top athletes will go head-to-head. You can find the 21.1 workout details here.
Two US women will compete: Kari Pearce and Kristi Eramo O’Connell. Pearce was one of five women in the 2020 CrossFit Games in person final. Her best Open finish is second in 2017.

O’Connell’s highest finish at the Games is seventh in 2019 in the team competition, she finished eighth in the individuals in 2016. She has never finished in the top 10 of the Open, but finished 14th twice in 2017 and 2020.
