Louis Ng Chi-wa is a museum professional, historian, and arts administrator with over three decades of experience. As the inaugural Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum since 2019, he oversaw its planning, construction, and now manages its operations, strategic vision, exhibitions, and international partnerships. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, overseeing numerous cultural institutions, and was the founding Director of the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence. Dr Ng holds a PhD in Hong Kong history and is an Honorary Professor at PolyU, specialising in History and Museum Studies.
