Residents of old Chinese town Chikan evicted to make way for tourists
Chikan, a centuries-old town, located on the western edge of the Pearl River Delta, is home to many Chinese emigrants.
Close to 4,000 households are being forced out of the town, as local authorities plan to turn it into a tourist attraction.
After selling their properties for a low price, residents were left in the lurch, as they found it hard to afford new or second-hand apartments in the urban areas.
