Night clashes around Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The clashes around the Hong Kong Polytechnic University continued into the night of November 17th as police set a deadline for people to leave. All medics and journalists were told to leave by 10pm and that anyone remaining on campus could be arrested and charged with rioting. A bridge that connects PolyU with the other side of the Cross Harbour tunnel became a battleground, with a police armoured car being hit with multiple petrol bombs. The violence stretched into the night as protesters from the Kowloon side tried to reach PolyU.
