China plans to vaccinate 560 million people by June despite huge challenges

China plans to vaccinate 40 per cent of its population by June 2021, despite the huge challenges of a programme that will need to reach 560 million people. As of the end of February, the country’s national vaccination rate had only reached 3.56 per cent, and much of China had not yet started mass vaccinations other than in the country’s major cities.
