L'Occitane Soothing Concentrated Mask

This week we test: hair masks

Joyee Chan

Regular conditioner replenishes hair to a point, but an intensive mask is the best way to prevent split ends, and keep tresses soft and shiny.

L'Occitane Soothing Concentrated Mask (HK$220/150ml)

This is great if your scalp is itching from whatever harsh chemical treatment you may have meted out to it. As with all L'Occitane products, it smells wonderful. But it's not entirely clear whether you're meant to use on wet or dry hair. 6/10

Origins Rich Rewards Intensive Moisture Treatment (HK$160/250ml)

If you like sweet, fruity scents, using this will be an absolute treat. And even if the juicy pear smell does nothing for you, the resulting shiny, swingy hair will make it all worth it.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter (HK$129/200ml)

This thoroughly conditions hair and leaves it feeling soft and looking shiny. It washes out easily, which is usually a problem with deep conditioners.

Aveda Intensive Restructuring Treatment (HK$325/125ml)

It's a little bit sticky, but the richness gives in-depth nourishment. It contains quinoa, which is a very high-protein food which gradually helps to repair damage. Hair feels so smooth and soft after rinsed.

L'Oreal Paris Absolut Repair Cellular Masque (HK$182/200ml)

This repairs the hair, leaving it stronger and easier to manage. Lactic acid helps to repair damage and make your locks shiny.
