Tao Li at the New World Millennium in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring vegetarian dishes until the end of June. On the menu are dishes of sautéed asparagus with vegetarian chicken, lily bulbs and pumpkin; smoked bean curd skin roll with taro and plum; and braised bean curd in whole pineapple with sweet and sour sauce. Valentina Abbona, sixth generation of the Marchesi di Barolo wine estate, will present her family’s wines at a dinner on June 28 at the Steak House Winebar + Grill at the InterContinental in Tsim Sha Tsui. The dinner is HK$1,488 plus 10 per cent and includes a main course of US beef rib-eye cap meat paired with the Marchesi di Barolo Samassa Barolo 2010 and Marchesi di Barolo Serragrilli Barbaresco 2012. Peggy Chan, executive chef of vegetarian restaurant Grassroots Pantry, is collaborating with chefs from other restaurants for special vegetarian dinners. On June 20, Richard Ekkebus from Amber at the Landmark Mandarin will alternate courses with Chan for a six-course dinner that includes mushroom marrow with Yunnan termite mushrooms and lemon-tarragon summer squash jam; and white asparagus charred with white miso. The dinner on June 20 is HK$880 plus 10 per cent; the menu is also available for the next four nights for HK$680 plus 10 per cent. The Chinese Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring tea-flavoured dishes until the end of June. The menu includes simmered grouper fillet with lily bulbs and pi lao chun tea; fried pork meatballs with chrysanthemum; stir-fried prawns with green tea; and smoked organic French egg with Chinese tea. Angelini at the Kowloon Shangri-La in Tsim Sha Tsui will hold a dinner on June 22 featuring the wines of Quintarelli estate in Verona, Italy. The dinner is HK$1,980 plus 10 per cent and includes a main course of slow-cooked beef tenderloin paired with the Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico vintages 2004 and 2000.
