Aidyn Fitzpatrick (they/them) is a nonbinary writer and editor, born in Hong Kong of biracial parentage. They worked as a teenage copy assistant on the South China Morning Post before entering Christ Church, Oxford, and graduating with a first in modern history. After stints as a kitchen porter, theatre director, underground dance party promoter, concert producer and copywriter, they became the travel, arts and culture editor of Time magazine’s international editions, and remained with the magazine until 2022 as its Asia managing editor. Their work has appeared in Wallpaper, Elle, Sydney Morning Herald and numerous other publications, while their photography has been featured on CNN and their poetry anthologised in City Voices: Hong Kong Writing in English, 1945 to the Present (HKU Press, 2003). They are the managing editor of Macao News and live on Lantau island with their wife and daughter.
