Favourite Hong Kong restaurants of yoga instructor and community curator at Pure Yoga, Will Tan

Tan enjoys trying out new flavours and healthy dishes, with fresh Vietnamese paper rolls, Caesar salad and truffle fries, chicken bao, green curry vegetables, salads, dim sum and toasties all firm favourites

I’m lucky to have a job that allows me to meet people from all over the world, and I’m even luckier to be in a country that has great food because of its rich cultural diversity.

Favourite restaurants of UberEats Hong Kong general manager Horace Lam

As a former restaurateur, I love trying out new tastes and flavours, and more often than not I like simple food that reminds me of home.

My go-to places whenever I have family or friends in town is Chom Chom (58 Peel St, SoHo, tel: 2810 0850). I can’t resist the fresh paper rolls. I also can’t resist the Caesar salad and truffle fries from Little Bao (66 Staunton St, SoHo, tel: 2194 0202). Of course, having any of the baos won’t hurt at all – my favourite is the chicken.

A place I like that’s close to my home is Fung Shing Restaurant (1/F-2/F, European Asian Bank Building, 749 Nathan Road, Prince Edward, tel: 2381 5261). [They serve] authentic Hong Kong food – this is one of the reasons why living in this city is great! Try their lunchtime dim sum, but go early to avoid the long queues.

Favourite restaurants of an Azerbaijani in Hong Kong - her ‘food paradise’

When I’m not preparing my meals at home, and I want to eat light or healthy, I go to Tuk Tuk Thai (30 Graham Street, Central, tel: 2542 2760) for the green curry vegetables.

When I’m with friends, we head to Grassroots Pantry (108 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, tel: 2873 3353) for its popcorn “chicken” or truffle linguine. The menu changes seasonally, so there’s always something to look forward to.

A few days a week, I have to work late so I head to Pure Fitness Kinwick Centre for my regular training and then to Nood Food (2/F Kinwick Centre, 32 Hollywood Road, Central, tel: 8199 8189) and have my salad in a box which always fill me up. It helps that the salads are labelled so you can always pick which ones your body needs at the moment.

Recently, I was reintroduced to the amazing food at 22 Ships (22 Ship Street, Wan Chai, tel: 2555 0722). Before I moved to Hong Kong I used to go there just for its desserts, however I’ve come to know them differently this time around – amazing toastie sandwiches and their always-creative speciality dishes written on their wall.

When he’s back home in the Philippines, Tan goes to Japanese restaurant, Izakaya Kikufuji, in Manila.

Whenever I’m back home in the Philippines, I head to my favourite Japanese restaurant, Izakaya Kikufuji (2277 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati 1230, Manila, tel: +63 2 893 6131), in the centre of Makati City.

Favourite restaurants, cafes and bars of Gloria Chung, Hong Kong-born food and travel writer

I’ve been going there since I was a kid, and it’s still to this day one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I’ve been to.
