Social distancing rules are set to relax in May – here’s Hong Kong’s best new restaurants and Mother’s Day eating out specials

Hip new hang-outs including The Blind Pig in Sai Wan Ho, Sai Kung’s Joe San and West Kowloon Cultural District’s Pano are all open for business – while Limewood in Repulse Bay and Central’s Miss Lee are serving up special menus just for mum
Despite the doom and gloom about how the F&B industry is suffering in Hong Kong, there are a few glimpses of hope as restaurants have begun to open up. And as the city’s new Covid-19 cases start to dwindle down to single digits, there are some awesome deals for those who are looking to venture outside, too.
Pano

The West Kowloon Cultural District is now almost up and running. And while Hong Kong awaits with bated breath for some awesome museums and performance venues to open, the complex’s restaurants are already blooming. Opened by veteran chef Ken Lau, who brings with him vast experience from The Peninsula Hong Kong’s most exclusive restaurants including Gaddi’s, Pano is a fine dining experience with Asian influences. Must-tries include the spaghetti with clams and chilli, apple wood smoked organic broccoli royale with Hokkaido sea urchin, the nourishing coconut fish maw, abalone and chicken bisque with slow-cooked chicken breast.

The Blind Pig

Shore Hospitality has opened up a new concept on the Sai Wan Ho waterfront. After the success of its farm-to-table concept The Salted Pig, The Blind Pig is shaping up to be the quintessential sports bar in the same neighbourhood. There are screens on every corner for sports fans to catch their next game and pub grub classics such as burgers, hot dogs, home-made pies, sausage rolls, fish and chips, pastas and snacks like nachos and jalapeño poppers are all on the menu.
