New opening: Lucale

The pedigree of five-star hotels has landed on the slopes of Sai Ying Pun. Alessandro Angelini, who helmed the kitchens at Kowloon Shangri-La’s Angelini, and Luca De Berardinis of Nicholini’s at the Conrad Hong Kong, have teamed up to open a laid-back Italian eatery. Look forward to delicious home-made pastas such as cappelletti di bolognese bianca and an absolutely tantalising Caesar salad with shavings of goose liver, balsamic pearls and earthy hazelnut paste.

New opening: Rubia

For those who love the coveted Rubia Gallega beef, this is the eatery for you. The breed is known for its strong and punchy flavours and its unforgettable flavour. Signature cuts available include Rubia Gallega boneless rib-eye and tenderloin. Pair the succulent steaks with hand-cut patatas fritas and sweet smoked piquillo peppers and, while you’re at it, wash it down with ale from the north of Spain such as Estrella Galicia lager or Maeloc dry apple cider.
