It begins with a selection of dim sum from the menu followed by some signature dishes such as the chaufa peruano, which is Peruvian fried rice, and tallarin saltado, a noodle dish. Chifa brings some of Lima’s lively Chino to Central’s Peel Street The next course is an anticucho platter – meat dishes that are more street food items in Peru. The platter includes anticucho skirt, chicken anticucho and more. The meal ends with a chocolate brownie with caramelised nuts and tiramisu ice cream. The Drunken Pot This popular hotpot restaurant reinvents a traditional broth enjoyed by the Empress Dowager Cixi, who insisted on freshly picked chrysanthemum petals sprinkled on her hotpot as she believed it would make her stay young and pretty. The hotpot is called ChrysantheMUM pot for The Queen, which has am egg white topping sprinkled with edible flowers and a luscious glaze, rather like an imperial gown. It features four other broths including two of The Drunken Pot’s bestselling items, black truffle with assorted mushroom and Sichuan-style numbingly spicy broth, and the newly launched Chinese herbal broth; and a hotpot-congee fusion of Hong Kong’s two favourite comfort foods, abalone and chicken congee.
