For some carbon-intensive industries such as cement production and aviation, affordable decarbonisation technologies do not exist as they are still under development. Capturing the carbon emissions, storing it in safe underground or undersea caverns, or utilising it in industrial applications is a much-needed interim solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change.
