The next generation of business leaders is putting increasing emphasis and being vocal on diversity, equality, and inclusivity issues in the workplace. This SCMP Conversation event turned the spotlight to speakers representing those who stand to benefit from a proper implementation of inclusive strategies in the workplace; the same segments of our community who have the most to lose if there isn’t one. Speakers representing the LGBTQ+ community, minority groups and the disabled shared their insights on how our city can build a more inclusive and equitable workforce.
Women are likely to fill up to 50 per cent of an estimated 2,000 new board seats at Hong Kong-listed firms in the next three years because of diversity listing rules and pressure to improve corporate governance.
About 6.4 per cent of mainland China-listed firms had female CEOs last year, and 26.3 per cent had female CFOs, above the global average.
