Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere in Hong Kong on Monday, July 16 at 9am. This means winter is FINALLY here. Based on the trailers, here are some things to watch out for in the coming season.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington), a firm favourite among viewers, returns as the King in the North. However, Jon’s position poses a threat to Petyr Baelish's (Aidan Gillen), also known as Littlefinger, Iron Throne dream. The trailers allude to Littlefinger's attempts to exert influence over Sansa and manipulate her into an alliance, which will definitely stir up drama. (Does he know one shouldn't mess with Sansa?)
Also, will the Stark sisters ever reunite now that Sansa is free and so is Arya (Maisie Williams)?
If the shot of Night King and the White Walkers in the trailer is anything to go by, there are more fights (and deaths) coming. (Well ... this is Game of Thrones. It's a miracle if no one dies in an episode.) But Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) also seems to have assembled an army of ravens, so maybe he can unleash them upon the creatures north of the Wall?
Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), meanwhile, is being ganged up on by her enemies. But she's determined to defeat them all. This means more wars are on the way, and that the power struggle for the Iron Throne has started in earnest.
Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) are now working as a power duo. Tyrion, now Hand of the Queen, is finally giving advice to someone who respects him. We cannot wait to see these two working together; their alliance could shape the entire season. We also get a brief but beautiful shot of Dany’s dragons in the trailer, so we know battle scenes are going to be thrilling with them around.
Grab some popcorn and get ready – this season is going to be the most exciting one yet.
