Australian rockers AC/DC are 16 albums and 41 years into their career, so they know a thing or two about how to write a great rock song. On their latest release, Rock or Bust, the band sticks with the formula which has served them so well over the last four decades.

The title track kicks off with a massive guitar riff, before singer Brian Johnson asks, in his signature shriek: "Are you ready?" You'd better be.

There are plenty of the band's trademark guitar solos on offer here; much of the second half of Play Ball is taken over by one. But the bluesy Rock the House shows that AC/DC isn't just a bunch of old men playing long guitar solos - they have some soul, too.

The problem is that if you aren't already a fan of classic rock, this album doesn't do much to win you over.

Rock or Bust certainly isn't mind-blowing, but it is a timely reminder of what music used to sound like when your dad was your age. And if AC/DC are anything to go by, long hair and even longer guitar solos have a little life in them yet.
